set smartgit with github

set ssh key

# check your file ssh

$ ls -al ~/.ssh

# cannot find id_rsa.pub and id_rsa file ? lets generate it

# generate key

$ cd ~/.ssh

$  ssh-keygen -t rsa -C "g3n1k@yahoo.com"
Enter passphrase (empty for no passphrase): [Type a passphrase]
Enter same passphrase again: [Type passphrase again]

# add ssh
$ ssh-add id_rsa

– open file id_rsa.pub with text editor

– copy

 add ssh key to github

– login to github

– add your ssh https://github.com/settings/ssh

– save

test to server github


# do ssh

$ ssh -T git@github.com

The authenticity of host 'github.com (192.30.252.131)' can't be established.
RSA key fingerprint is xxxxx.
Are you sure you want to continue connecting (yes/no)? yes
Warning: Permanently added 'github.com,192.30.252.131' (RSA) to the list of known hosts.

set smartgit

download from http://www.syntevo.com/smartgit/index.html

it will recognize your key

in Project > Clone >

input your git url to remote

clone
