tinycore 7.2 – install frugal with all config and GUI

# install tools for hardisk and boot
tce-load -wi cfdisk grub-0.97-splash
sudo su
fdisk -l
cfdisk /dev/sda

# chose [New] -> [Primary] # select size or enter for all
# add [Bootable]
# do change [Write]
# then [Quit]

mkfs.ext4 /dev/sda1

# rebuild fstab

# mount hd
mount /mnt/sda1

# create for backup and restore
mkdir -p /mnt/sda1/tce
touch /mnt/sda1/tce/mydata.tgz

# create directories grub
mkdir -p /mnt/sda1/boot/grub

# mount iso or media boot, 
# iam using virtualbox, and had mount as cdrom, sr0

# installing grub

cp -p /usr/lib/grub/i386-pc/* /mnt/sda1/boot/grub/
cp /mnt/sr0/boot/vmlinuz /mnt/sda1/boot/grub/
cp /mnt/sr0/boot/core.gz /mnt/sda1/boot/grub/

# edit config grub
vi /mnt/hda1/boot/grub/menu.lst

# add line
default 0
timeout 0
title tinycore
kernel /boot/vmlinuz quiet
initrd /boot/core.gz

# run grub

root (hd0,0)
setup (hd0)

# backup extension and config
mkdir -p /mnt/sda1/backup
cp -r /mnt/sr0/cde /mnt/sda1/backup/
cp -r /home /mnt/sda1/backup/

# poweroff and remove iso from mount, then poweron

# now lets restore x
cp -r /mnt/sda1/backup/home/tc/* ~
rm -f /mnt/sda1/tce/onboot.lst 
cp -r /mnt/sda1/backup/onboot.lst /mnt/sda1/tce/
cp -r /mnt/sda1/backup/optional/*  /mnt/sda1/tce/optional/

# load all tcz
tce-load -i Xlibs.tcz Xprogs.tcz Xvesa aterm fltk-1.3 flwm_topside freetype imlib2 imlib2-bin libICE libSM libX11 libXau libXdmcp libXext libXfont libXi libXmu libXpm libXrandr.tcz libXrender.tcz libXt.tcz libfontenc.tcz  libjpeg-turbo.tcz libpng.tcz libxcb.tcz wbar.tcz

# check status
tce-status -i

# make it persistent
# backup configuration ssh
sudo vi /opt/.filetool.lst

# add line

# backup configuration
sudo filetool.sh -b

# restart
sudo reboot
